The Border Heritage Center (BHC) is currently housed within the Sergio Troncoso Branch Library, due to Main Library's (downtown branch) ongoing extensive renovation. As space is limited, only select materials were brought to BHC's temporary space. These include small portions of the Southwest, RAZA, and Genealogy Collections. Also available are select periodicals and microforms, the local newspaper index, and vertical files. Please refer to our About page for a more thorough collection description.
All special collections and archival holdings are in storage. However, arrangements may be made to retrieve select, accessible materials. For further information, please contact BHC.
Appointments are not required to visit BHC, however, due to our limited collection availability, contacting BHC to inquire whether interested materials are available is recommended. Masks are not required but encouraged. Please do not bring any food into BHC. Bottled beverages are acceptable.
Please handle all materials with care and follow any special guidance provided by staff. Photocopying, scanning and the use of camera phones is permissable for personal/research duplication purposes on select materials. However, we reserve the right to limit or deny photocopying, photographing, and scanning of materials due to among other things, condition of material and copyright.
